Amber Gayle Thalmayer (Ph.D, psychology, University of Oregon 2013) has collaborated on scientific studies seeking to distinguish culturally specific personality concepts from more universal, directly translatable, attribute distinctions. She has also published on how to best measure personality, and on personality predictors of life outcomes and mental health treatment. As half of underground publishing duo Evil Twin Publications, Amber spent the ‘90s writing a zine called “My Evil Twin Sister”, and books of poetry and natural history. Evil Twin books and zines are included in the permanent collections of over a dozen institutions, including the Victoria Albert Museum of London, MOMA NY, and SF MOMA. Amber lives on a farm in Eugene with her family, and teaches at the University of Oregon.
