Christopher Kirkley is a self-described amateur ethnomusicologist and gentleman explorer of the West African Sahel. His work spans field recording, cultural archiving, experimental ethnography, and the role of new media in West Africa. Under the label Sahel Sounds, he has produced an extensive discography of record releases in conjunction with artists across six countries.
