Hailed by Ms. Magazine’s end-of-the-century issue as “a choreographer making great leaps forward into the 21st century,” Donna Uchizono is known for work spiced with wit, rich invention, and unexpected beauty. A Guggenheim Fellow, Uchizono’s work has been recognized by, most notably, a 2005 Alpert Award in Dance and a Bessie for her piece Low (2002). Uchizono is currently creating a new piece As eyes see it (working title), with original score by Fred Frith which will premiere at Dance Theater Workshop in NYC in October 2007.
