Goat Island is a collaborative performance group based in Chicago. Since their inception in 1987, they have created five critically acclaimed performance pieces which have toured throughout the US, the UK, and Europe. They have received numerous grants from the NEA and are currently the subject of a Public Broadcasting Service documentary. Company members of Goat Island are: Adrian Blundell (videographer), Karen Christopher, Matthew Goulish, Lin Hixson (Director), Antonio Poppe, and Brian Saner. Characterized by their physically-intense movement, idiosyncratic theatrical juxtapositions, and Brechtian style narrative disruptions, Goat Island’s work is not only resonant, but extraordinary.
