Isla Leaver-Yap writes about and organizes projects with artists. She contributes to Afterall and Mousse, as well as other periodicals. At the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), London, she co-organized Nought to Sixty, and started the ongoing Artists Film Club. She curated the 2011 exhibition season Short Stories at SculptureCenter, New York. In 2012, she was a member of Banff Centre’s 2012 visual arts faculty for LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL STOP PLEASE ALLOW FEATURES ASSUME EXPRESSION INDICATIVE OF AMUSEMENT JOY PLEASURE BENEVOLENCE ETCETERA BY DRAWING UP CORNERS OF MOUTH AND GENERALLY RELAXING FACIAL MUSCLES STOP LOVE FOR ALL STEFAN STOP; was the editor of LUX’s Live Journal; and curator for The Biennial of Moving Images. She is on the advisory council for YU Contemporary.
