Assembled in a NW Portland warehouse in 2005, Root Beer and French Fry started as a “for fun” computer song writing project. Relying initially on pre-recorded sounds, samples, and drum machines, the group stumbled upon a system for generating short, catchy, poppy songs. Integrating live instruments (guitars, bass, keyboards, drums) and receiving the name “Root Beer and French Fry” as a birthday present helped to turn the project into an actual band. The group is now comprised of Brendan Monroe, Cory Jones, Andy Parker, Adam Sorensen and the more inanimate yet equally important member, Apple Computer.
