Join in a reenactment of Blank Placard Happening, a performance by pioneering artist Anna Halprin, originally performed by the San Fransicso Dancer’s Workshop in 1968. Thirty years later, this simple but powerful choreographic score for pedestrians still resonates with a country at war and on the eve of a presidential election.

Participants are encouraged to wear white and bring their own blank white sign, some signs available on site. No previous performance or dance experience is required. The happening participants will parade one mile from PNCA Swigert Commons across the Broadway Bridge to THE WORKS at Leftbank.

Anna Halprin’s career has spanned the field of dance since the late 1930s, creating revolutionary directions for the art form
