Fusing the fantastical visuals of Miwa Matreyek, inventive staging of Chi-wang Yang and the electronic space pop of Portland regular Anna Oxygen, the collective Cloud Eye Control brings you into their multiple landscapes of moon chasing, machine humans, and lucid dreaming. An Evening at Ape Canyon is comprised of a series of mini-operas, science-fiction adventures, and dimensional shift. The evening ends with an Anna Oxygen interactive dance-along. Be prepared to bounce, use props, and hold hands with your neighbor.
Cloud Eye Control is a Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary performance collective comprised of Miwa Matreyek, Anna Oxygen and Chi-wang Yang. Integrating animation, experimental theatre, pop music, and puppetry; their work fuses screen and stage to create inventive hybrids of animation and performance. Their work has been presented both nationally and internationally, most recently at the Platform International Animation Festival and in Scotland at the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe.
