A workshop for singers of all levels. Starting with the basics of breathing and then moving on to the biomechanics of speech and song, Hallett leads exercises that explore paralinguistic (non-verbal) communication between multiple voices. These techniques will be applied to musical selections from Hallett’s Rainbow Passage, which is scheduled roughly a week later to be performed as part of the TBA Festival. Concepts include: phonetics, morphology, Deep Listening, and extended vocal technique

No knowledge of reading music is needed, but participants are expected to be able to match pitch and feel comfortable singing with others in an ensemble situation. Singers of all levels are encouraged to join and others may observe. No physical materials are needed. Please wear comfortable clothing.
