Blanket contemplates the body as information and objects as instigators. Drawing from the personal, scientific and cultural, Blanket explores human engagement and cultural shifts toward synthetic experience. Structured in three parts, Blanket begins as a soft sculpted installation then transforms through interactive performance and finally, remains on view with lingering traces of the performer’s presence. Visitors are encouraged to hug the objects at will. Blanket includes an original score by Unrecognizable Now with Delaney Kelly (Deelay Ceelay), video work by Chris Lael Larson and clothing by Rachelle Waldie.
Blanket was developed with the support of the Caldera Artist In Residence Program, the Cirque du Soleil Cultural Action Department, and the Nevada Arts Council Jackpot Grant.
