I know but when you ask me I don’t - Saint Augustine of Hippo
WHAT IS TIME? a new site-specific performance composition illustrating historical perceptions of time in the ‘age of anxiety’. Referencing philosophical topics such as the meaning of life, existentialism, and time, this work intends to explore, interpret, and draw lines of interconnectivity through improvised movement and sound.
Locating said interconnectivity through improvisational movement would, in theory, create patterns. The patterns would be drawn and the composition created during the performance of activating materials. Materials such as musical instruments, props, people moving in space, depict, reference and represent patterns drawn between theoretical and philosophical questions. Patterns drawn become documentation; Documentation as data collection; Data collection as composition; Composition as sounds; Sounds that then become archived.
