Founded in 1975, The Wooster Group is an ensemble of artists who make new work for theater, dance and media. Under the direction of Elizabeth LeCompte, and with its staff and associates, the Group has cultivated new forms and techniques of theatrical expression reflective of and responsive to our culture. Join LeCompte and Geoff Abbas of The Wooster Group, and Kathleen Forde of the Experimental Media and Performance Center (EMPAC) inside the panoramic screen of THERE IS STILL TIME..BROTHER to hear about the relationships between live performance and technology, film and media, Wooster Group style.

LeCompte, a founding member of the Group, has directed all of the company’s works. Her honors and awards include a NEA Distinguished Artists Fellowship for Lifetime Achievement in American Theater, a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a US Artists Fellowship and a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture. Abbas has worked with The Wooster Group since 1999 as a technical director and sound engineer. He received a Drama Desk Nominee for the Group’s To You, The Birdie! (Phédre).

Since 2005, Forde has been the Curator of Time-Based Arts at EMPAC at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. EMPAC — which opened in October 2008 — is an institution for the presentation and production of adventurous multidisciplinary work.
