Minor Appliances introduces the exceptional and singular vision of Northwest sculptor Brian Addison Elliot. Originally trained in product design, Elliot’s sculpture draws upon consumer culture and the iconography of commercial and industrial products. Each piece is created from a combination of carefully fabricated materials, a reorganization of technologies, and is often based on an influential person or experience in his life. Most noticeable in each sculpture is Elliot’s stunning craftsmanship, witty subject matter and obsessive attention to detail. Minor Appliances is a survey of his unique body of work, which chronicles his evolution as an independent artist over the past five years.
