The glowing, groaning and grinding noise of New Humans is accompanied by site-specific installations informed by minimalism and op art. Repetitive patterning, collapsing boundaries and objects lead to the intense unraveling of sound.

Formed in 2003, Brooklyn based New Humans make collaborative works including music, video, art installations, sound recordings and clothing collaborations with United Bamboo and Whole Cloth. New Humans began out of bassist Mika Tajima’s art practice and continues to be a large part of her investigation of space and minimalist concepts. Members include Howie Chen, Mika Tajima, and Eric Tsai. New Humans recently contributed to the performance marathon in celebration of Rirkrit Tiravanija’s & Mark di Suvero’s Peace Tower at the 2006 Whitney Biennial.
