The Butterfly Effect: A Visionary Gesture by Leslie B. Durst is an exhibition of 120 works by Portland—both past and current—based artists. The work was generated through a private commissioning project created by philanthropist Leslie B. Durst. For the past decade, Durst has secretly commissioned one artist a year to make a unique edition of twelve objects. Each piece is then given to individuals both in and way out of art world circles. Her project was born out of a simple idea and has gone on to create an extraordinary partnership between patron and artist, gift giver and gift receiver.
In honor of Durst’s sixtieth birthday, all of the works have been gathered for this exhibition. They will be on view to the public from October 21 – 25, from 12pm to 6pm, at the Leftbank Project. Admission is free.
Please join us in celebrating Durst’s generous spirit and visionary gesture.
